Shaykh Akram mentioned yesterday a story that took place in India. A man was married to a wife with beautiful hair. The man was mesmerised by it. The husband only just managed to put food on the table and therefore his wife had to borrow the comb from the neighbours.
One day his wife asked her husband that if he likes her hair so much why doesn't he buy her a comb so that she can look after it rather than borrowing the comb from the neighbours. The husband said I don't even have enough money to repair even my watch and then left for work.
On the way back from work, he thought to himself how bad husband must he be for not buying his wife a comb. He went to the shop and sold his broken watch and had enough to buy a comb.
When arriving back home he found that his wife had cut all her hair. The husband asked, why did she do so, he had just sold his watch and bought this comb for her. She had said, once you had left home, I felt guilty, how bad wife I am, that my husband cannot even repair his watch, so I cut my hair and sold it. I was hoping with the money you could repair your watch. Astonished by each other's kindness both began to cry out of love for one another. <3
No matter how much wealth you have and how much you spend on one another it cannot create love between you. What is required is acts of kindness and caring.
