The Man, the Lady and the Comb

Shaykh Akram mentioned yesterday a story that took place in India. A man was married to a wife with beautiful hair. The man was mesmerised by it. The husband only just managed to put food on the table and therefore his wife had to borrow the comb from the neighbours.

One day his wife asked her husband that if he likes her hair so much why doesn't he buy her a comb so that she can look after it rather than borrowing the comb from the neighbours. The husband said I don't even have enough money to repair even my watch and then left for work.
On the way back from work, he thought to himself how bad husband must he be for not buying his wife a comb. He went to the shop and sold his broken watch and had enough to buy a comb.
When arriving back home he found that his wife had cut all her hair. The husband asked, why did she do so, he had just sold his watch and bought this comb for her. She had said, once you had left home, I felt guilty, how bad wife I am, that my husband cannot even repair his watch, so I cut my hair and sold it. I was hoping with the money you could repair your watch. Astonished by each other's kindness both began to cry out of love for one another. <3
No matter how much wealth you have and how much you spend on one another it cannot create love between you. What is required is acts of kindness and caring.

~ Hearing Your Name ... ~

Hearing Your name ...

Brought tears to my eyes

Love from Your remembrance compared to anyone or anything else is not the same
Thoughts of internal and external fears floated away
When I heard Your name ...

Letter for You ...

Aslaamu alykum,
I hope you are okay sister/brother. I am writing this letter to show you that you have not been forgotten. Even with that being the case, you must remember, oh my sister/brother that Allah (swt) is with you always and closer to you than your own jugular vein. Look after yourself for the One who created you gave you your body and soul as a sacred trust and as a means to get closer to him. Know that these days will pass and you will see how insignificant these moments are, when you stand before your Lord and the oppressed will have their fair share and the oppressors will have theirs likewise.
Time seems to stand still in times of adversity but know that every second and every heartbeat brings you closer to your Lord, who loves His slaves and is awaiting their return. As day and night alternate, know that good and bad are a consistent cycle in this life and that neither can remain forever, the only thing that is assured is the distance between your Lord, the closer you are to Him the joyous you will remain and the distant you are from Him the more ruined you will become until you are forgotten.
So, oh my sister/brother, strive with the time you have, no matter the environment or condition you are kept in, for the hardship and toil you go through in this life, you will surely harvest in the next. Oh my sister/brother know that your freedom is not only freedom of the body but freedom of the soul and the latter you can attain as long as you are able to distinguish right from wrong. Pray and be patient for Allah (swt) is with those who are patient and know that the victory of Allah (swt) is promised and Allah (swt) never breaks His promise.

~ Loneliness ... ~

When loneliness enters the hearts

Memories of what has past reappears

Parts of history which caused us joy
Looking back at that moment was timeless but did not last ... Causing us to worry where the future is going
Casting forwards for hope ... Showing trust in our Lord is what is needed
No matter if we think we cannot cope
To focus our sight on eternal happiness
In the night it is to Him whom we plead

He is the one that can open the way
Providing us with the light that the shines so bright
The hight of aspiration which will not pass

~ Watching life fly by ... ~

Watching life fly by ...
Do we not question our existence?
Have we been created aimlessly?
Or do we need time for some meaningful reflection.
Surely there is more to this life than what meets the eye.
Or satisfies the tongue, following our lowly desires until we feel overcome.
Sleeping to rest our bodies, not thinking of the taking of our souls.
Our last breath taking us to our lengthy abode ...

~ Calling out to You ... ~

When I turned to You all my worries washed away.
My dreams at night became as clear as day.
My burdens that I had buried became as light as hay.
What can I say?
You are the one who gives generously without asking for pay.

~ Book of life ... ~

Letters linking together to express the experiences of life.
Turning each page encountering smiles and sorrow.
Each chapter healing and heartbreak.
But once completed cover to cover your story makes perfect sense.
Just keep on reading :)

~ Remember ... ~

When you feel alone remember Allah (swt) is with you ...
When you feel distant remember Allah (swt) is the closest to you ...
When you feel broken remember Allah (swt) is the one that mends and sets things aright ...
When you feel lost remember that Allah (swt) is the one that guides you from Darkness into Light ...
When you understand that Allah (swt) is as you think He is, you can only expect goodness to come your way ...
Break out of the cage and remember the One that has never forgotten you ...
Just remember ... :)
